White Dog Labs, Inc. The company has invented a proprietary process, Protocol B™, for the isolation, selection and cultivation of microbiome-derived Clostridia, which has resulted in large, diverse and novel strain libraries. WDL has also invented a novel class of fermentation technology called MixoFerm™ that can improve the efficiency of fermentation processes by 50-100%, which can improve production economics for bio-products, ranging from fuels and chemicals to protein rich feeds.
MixoFerm employs Clostridia microorganisms to simultaneously convert carbohydrates (e.g., sugar) and gas (e.g., CO2, hydrogen and CO) into many desirable biochemical and protein rich animal feeds. What’s more, with the right combination of sugar and gas, The CO2 emissions from the fermentation can be substantially reduced, which improves the environmental footprint.
WDL customers and partners will benefit in these ways: 1) differentiated products, particularly in applications of advanced nutrition, enabled by our proprietary library of Clostridia microbiota, 2) lower feedstock cost, which is commonly the largest operating cost consideration whether it is protein, fuel or chemical production; 3) improved life-cycle- analysis by maximizing the mass conversion of biobased feedstocks; and 4) easier compliance with current and future regulations on carbon intensity of products.
